Vitrinentext
Rudolf Wachter carved and hollowed out his shapes using the green wood of freshly felled tree trunks. As it dried, the wood developed its own dynamic forces, altering its form in the process. The sculptor consciously integrated this natural transformation into his work. Wachter understood wood as a living material with which he is holding a form of dialogue. From this encounter he developed sculptures which are not working against the possibilities of nature, but always with them.
