Es habe Blut geregnet und die Sonne sei in zwei Teile zerbrochen. Das Geschehen deutet Hamer als Zeichen für das nahende Weltende und mahnt seine Leser ihre Sünden zu bereuen. Eine natürliche Ursache, wie ein Nordlicht, könnte verantwortlich für das Phänomen sein, das in mehreren Publikationen der Zeit überliefert ist.In 1550, Stefan Hamer publishes a leaflet on a celestial phenomenon in Saxony: At sunset, a mountain with a stag and two armies are said to have become visible. Allegedly, it has rained blood, and the sun has burst into two parts. Hamer interprets the event as a sign for the approaching end of the world and urges his readers to repent of their sins.
