Die Qualität des Möbels liegt in der Ausführung und Gravur der Marketerie und der aufwendigen, dekorativen Gestaltung des Innern.1Deutsch2010Der wohl aus Regensburg stammende Schrank entspricht einem Typus, der auch in Niederbayern und Oberösterreich anzutreffen ist. Als charakteristisches Merkmal springt vor allem der auffällige, durchbrochen geschnitzte Aufsatz ins Auge. Daneben besitzt das Möbel reiche Marketerien aus verschiedenen Hölzern: dichtes Bandelwerk und üppige Blattranken rahmen die Darstellungen der Jahreszeiten, die als weibliche Personifikationen mit ihren Attributen (Blütengirlande, Sichel und Ährenkrone, Fruchtkorb und Weinglas, Feuerschale) auf den Türflügeln zu finden sind. Die teilweise noch grünen Blätter der Akanthusranken, sowie Reste von Farbigkeit im Gefieder der Papageien zeigen, dass der Schrank ursprünglich weniger durch das farbliche Zusammenspiel unterschiedlicher naturbelassener Hölzer als durch den bunten Kontrast verschiedener Beizen gewirkt hat.2Englisch2010The wardrobe probably comes from Regensburg and corresponds to a type also found in Lower Bavaria and Upper Austria. The most striking feature is the carved openwork in the top section. The piece of furniture also has opulent marquetry of different woods: dense strapwork and lush foliage frame the depictions of the four seasons, which are found on the door leafs as female personifications with their attributes (floral garlands, sickle and crown of wheat, fire bowl, fruit basket and wine glass).
