Vitrinentext
This drawing is associated with sculptures by sculptor Hans Wimmer. As early as the early 1930s, he had treated the topic of life-size standing nude figures. In 1956, he created two versions of the “Great Standing Woman” in bronze. While the executed sculptures aim at a certain archaic monumentality and universality, the drawing still captures the model’s individuality and emphasizes the natural spontaneity of the posture.
