Vitrinentext
Karl Hubbuch looks in the mirror quizzically and wide-eyed. Wearing a wrinkled jacket and a badly battered hat, he seems to wish to point out his uprooted outsider’s existence as an artist. Like other self-reflective drawings of the post-war era, the sheet probably served him as study material for drypoints. These were created beginning in 1920 after he resumed his education at the Karlsruhe Academy.
