Dauerausstellung 20. Jahrhundert, Raum 210: Das Fenster wurde 1914 in der „Farbenschau“ der Kölner Werkbund-Ausstellung gezeigt. Die Schau warb für eine neue Ausdruckskraft der Farbe im Bereich der angewandten Kunst. Für sie entwarf Hermann Muthesius einen eigenen Bau. In dem dunklen Ausstellungsraum übten die expressionistischen Glasfenster durch ihre damals noch ungewohnte Leuchtwirkung eine besondere Faszination aus.
Resurrection of Christ. The window was shown in 1914 in the “Color Show” of the Cologne Werkbund exhibition. It promoted a new power of expression for color in the domain of applied art. Hermann Muthesius designed a new building for it. The Expressionist stained glass windows in the dark exhibition room exerted a special fascination through their – at that time – unaccustomed brilliancy of color.
