Inv.Nr. HG 11157). Das Schlossblech nimmt mit seiner schlichten Kontur und fehlenden Binnenzeichnung gleichzeitig Entwicklungen aus England auf, was auf eine Entstehung in den 1730/40er Jahren hindeutet.2Englisch2010The striking wave-front gives the commode a very indi-vidual appearance. Notable is that on the front there are neither handles for opening drawers nor locks for locking them. Instead, it is closed with a central locking mecha-nism located on the right side, a typical feature of such items made by Nuremberg cabinet-makers. To pull out the individual drawers one grips the slightly overhanging edges on both sides. The strongly profiled front with its distinct rounds and channels links it closely to Nuremberg wave-front wardrobes (cf. inv.no. HG 11157). At the same time the lock plate with its plain contour and lack of interior detail takes up developments from England, which suggests a date of 1730/40.
